First things first (The person you have to be):
1. Your team will emulate you!
2. What you do right, they’ll do less!
3. What you do is wrong, they’ll do more!
ATTITUDE- Maintaining a positive outlook is key!
IMAGE- Sharp breeds sharp. First impression is everything, make sure that you are IMPRESSIVE!
DEPENDABILITY- If you say you’re going to do something, JUST DO IT! Go the extra mile for your guys.
RELIABILITY- Go above and beyond by doing more than anyone else. BE ON TIME.
PRODUCTIVITY- Set the pace, be the “go-to” guy, Don’t ask your guys to do anything you won’t do….
BE A GOOD STUDENT- Be the best student that you can be and your guys will follow your lead. Never think that you can’t learn, have the willingness to learn!
Team building is not the easiest task. It’s actually one of the most challenging things you will ever do in your career. Some of the guys you are currently working with today will never build a team and won’t be around tomorrow. Frustration and lack of preparation are the most common reasons for failure! Before you will be ready to develop others, first you must learn to develop yourself.
The following skills are the key factors to successfully develop yourself and your team….
POSITIVE ATTITUDE: You must be a person that is enjoyable to be around. No one wants to be around a negative Nancy or Ned~!
LEAD BY EXAMPLE: If people on your team are going to learn from you, you don’t want them to learn to build bad habits from you. They’ll learn enough on their own.
POSITIVE TALKER/PROMOTER: Be able to genuinely get other excited!!!!!
KNOW THE ANSWERS: You will be asked hundreds of questions and if you don’t know the answers, you need to ask more questions yourself.
SET GOALS: You must have a path to success that others can follow you down.
The key to building a strong team is to get so on top of your game that a team will develop the above skills themselves. The sales are simply a by-product of what we do, but it’s how we all make money.
Best of luck to you and your teammates!! Go ROCK IT OUT!!!
